Grade A, B, C | Clothing Classification French Pick

At French Pick, we work with a selection of second-hand clothing and accessories, collected exclusively within France. Each item undergoes careful sorting and inspection to guarantee its quality.

We are committed to guaranteeing you transparency and monitoring that respects established specifications, allowing us to classify the garment into 3 grades (A, B, C), depending on its condition.


Grade A - Modern
Modern Grade A encompasses the highest quality secondhand clothing. All garments are guaranteed to be free of defects.

Please note that a margin of error of between 0 and 10% of the box contents is tolerated, as all sorting is done by humans, and given the quantities sorted daily, some defects may slip through the net. We accept that errors are possible and are fully available to assist you should you encounter any problems.


Grade A - Vintage
Vintage Grade A encompasses the highest quality of secondhand clothing. The garments included are guaranteed to be free of major defects. Acceptable wear in Grade A includes: natural fading, patina, very slight pulls, micro-snags, very light pilling, wear consistent with age, slight vintage print cracking, shortened jeans, hand-stitched hems, slight wear to inner collars, missing buttons on sleeves, and minor, non-central stains.

Grade B - Vintage
Vintage grade B includes good quality garments that may have minor flaws but are still saleable as is. Acceptable wear in grade B includes: small, light/localized stains outside the central areas, slight pilling, stretched elastic, small holes outside the central areas, moderate discoloration on the inside of the collar, missing up to two buttons, and sweaters that have shrunk slightly in the wash.

Grade C - Vintage

Vintage grade C includes garments with the most visible flaws. This grade includes only pieces that gain added value from these signs of wear! This applies to: vintage military clothing, vintage Levi's jeans, workwear (Carhartt, Dickies, etc.), work clothes, denim jackets, leather jackets, and historical clothing dating from before the 1950s. Acceptable wear in category C includes: significant stains (greasy, widespread, visible from the front), large holes, tears, broken or stuck zippers, open seams, stretched elastic, and reversible deformations.
